About the LL.M. in Aviation Law
Air travel has become an integral part of modern life, connecting people, businesses, and economies worldwide. India is now the world’s third-largest aviation market, serving over 350 million passengers annually and employing more than 7.7 million people. As the sector expands, so do the legal and regulatory complexities concerning passenger rights, aircraft financing, safety, liability, cybersecurity, and sustainability. This LL.M. programme develops legal experts equipped to address these challenges through deep understanding of both domestic and international aviation law, policy frameworks, and commercial practices.

Course Structure
Trimester 1 | Research Methodology (3 credits); Global Aerospace Legal Framework (2 credits); Aviation Economics, Strategy & Management (2 credits); Aviation Contracts, Leasing & Financing (2 credits). |
Trimester 2 | Law and Justice in a Globalised World (3 credits); Aviation Security, Safety & Liability (2 credits); Aircraft & Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (2 credits); Airports & Ground Handling Operations (2 credits); International Research Tour (2 credits). |
Trimester 3 | Comparative Public Law (3 credits); Dissertation/Capstone Project (5 credits) with supervised research; Optional internships at airlines, OEMs, or regulatory bodies. |
International Research Tour | Mandatory 1–2 week exposure to international aviation regulators, aircraft manufacturers, and legal institutions abroad. |

Eligibility and Admission Process
Eligibility: Law graduates (LL.B. 3 or 5 years) with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST). Preference will be given to applicants with professional experience such as advocates, in-house counsel, and legal officers.
Admission Process:

- Entrance Exam – National-level test conducted by DAU-SoL
- Personal Interaction – Shortlisted candidates invited for interview
