With nearly two decades of international experience across finance transformation, ESG governance, and risk management, Mr. Tarun Ahuja brings a rare blend of strategic foresight and operational expertise to the Dhirubhai Ambani University – School of Law.

Currently serving as Vice President – ESG, Finance & Risk Change Management at HSBC, Mr. Ahuja has led global initiatives focused on embedding sustainability within financial and regulatory frameworks. His work has spanned the implementation of Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) frameworks, sustainable finance integration, and strengthening operational resilience across financial systems.

Over the course of his career, Mr. Ahuja has successfully driven large-scale transformation programmes aligning finance, risk, and sustainability objectives to international regulatory standards. His expertise lies in integrating ESG considerations into corporate finance strategy, designing governance mechanisms, and ensuring compliance with evolving global disclosure and sustainability mandates.

An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Mr. Ahuja holds an Executive MBA in Finance and Strategy. He is also certified as a PRINCE2 Practitioner and Scrum Master (Agile), reflecting his commitment to adaptive leadership and efficient programme execution in dynamic regulatory environments.

At HSBC, he has been instrumental in building sustainable financial systems and promoting responsible reporting and disclosure practices that align with environmental and social priorities at a global scale.

As a Senior Non-Resident Fellow at the Dhirubhai Ambani University – School of Law, Mr. Ahuja will play a key role in shaping the University’s academic and research focus within the ESG, Carbon Markets & Sustainability Vertical. His contributions will include mentoring professionals and executives, advising on curriculum development, and guiding the School’s initiatives on sustainable finance, corporate governance, and climate risk management.
