We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Manuj Bhardwaj, Assistant Professor at the School of Law, Dhirubhai Ambani University, was invited to participate in the prestigious Stakeholder Consultation on Domestic Regulations in Professional (Legal) Services on April 30. Chaired by Dr. Arvind Virmani, Member, NITI Aayog, and co-organized by NITI Aayog and the Centre for Trade and Investment Law, this event convened key stakeholders to discuss the future of India’s professional services landscape.

Dr. Virmani emphasized India’s demographic dividend and the growing global demand for skilled professionals, advocating for upskilling, capacity building, and the integration of emerging technologies to strengthen India’s service competitiveness. These insights align with our commitment to advancing the legal sector’s role in a dynamic global economy.

Representing the Indian National Association of Legal Professionals (INALP) [भारतीय राष्ट्रीय विधिक वृत्तिक संस्था]®, Dr. Bhardwaj advocated for key reforms to strengthen the legal sector, including:

  • Regulated and phased liberalization of India’s legal market
  • Minimum remuneration standards for young lawyers
  • Structured stipends for legal interns
  • Ethical branding and advertising frameworks for law firms
