
Dr. M.S. Vasan is an accomplished tax professional and academic, currently serving as the Senior Vice President – Global Taxation at Hinduja Global Solutions Ltd., a listed ITES company under the Hinduja Group. With over 33 years of corporate experience spanning multinational giants like DuPont, General Motors, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, Sutherland Global, and Enercon GmbH, Dr. Vasan brings deep expertise in international taxation, corporate restructuring, and transfer pricing.
He holds a doctoral degree in Transfer Pricing, and is also a qualified Cost Accountant, a law graduate (LL.B.), and holds postgraduate degrees in Commerce and Business Administration. Earlier in his career, he was enrolled with the Delhi High Court Bar Council and actively practiced as an advocate, representing clients in tax litigation both in India and overseas.
Dr. Vasan is also an accomplished author, having written the book Transfer Pricing Audit Practices in India (LexisNexis), along with several other publications such as the Direct Taxes Ready Reckoner and Master Guide to Income Tax. He contributed the chapter on Cost Audit in A. Ramaiya’s Companies Act, 2013, a seminal legal text.
He has served on expert panels of SIAM, ASSOCHAM, and NASSCOM, and has contributed articles to major tax journals and dailies—including as a columnist for the Financial Express (“Tax Café”, 2013–2016), and consulting editor for Taxmann’s International Taxation Journal (2009–2012).
Alongside his corporate career, Dr. Vasan has remained closely engaged with academia. He was Visiting Faculty at Loyola Institute of Business Administration, Chennai (2008–2013), and ASCI Hyderabad, teaching MBA and Executive programs in corporate taxation and M&A. He has also contributed to academic curriculum development as a Board Member of Studies (M.Com) at Madurai Kamaraj University (2010–2012).
Dr. Vasan continues to work closely with the Institute of Cost Accountants of India, leading knowledge sessions on topics such as international taxation, company law, NCLT/NCLAT, and the evolving Direct Tax Code under the Ministry of Finance.
