
Dr. Vini Singh is an Associate Professor of Law at Dhirubhai Ambani University – School of Law. With over nine years of teaching experience she specializes in Comparative Constitutional Law, Media Law, and, Privacy and Data Protection Law.
She holds an LL.M. from University College London and has completed her Ph.D. in law from National Law University Jodhpur. She is actively engaged in discussions on data protection, particularly in areas like protection of children’s privacy in the digital environment, data protection and democracy, protection of special categories of data like genetic data, and rights of the data principal like the right to be forgotten.
She has authored and co-authored several research papers. Her recent research paper titled “Beyond Consent: Ensuring Meaningful Protection of Genetic Data under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023” published in the JIAFM (Scopus indexed) critiques the limitations of the notice and consent based model of data protection in regulating genetic data and proposes a harm based model for regulating genetic data.
As an Associate Professor at the School of Law, Dhirubhai Ambani University, she plans to contribute to the dynamic intersection of law and technology.
