5th Annual Global AI Policy Summit, ETH Zürich

Prof. (Dr.) Avinash Dadhich Attends the 5th Annual Global AI Policy Summit organized by the ETH Center for Law & Economics, at ETH Zürich.

We are happy to share that our Founding Director, Prof. (Dr.) Avinash Dadhich was an attendee at the 5th Annual Global AI Policy Summit organized by the ETH Center for Law & Economics, at ETH Zürich in collaboration with RegHorizon. The 5th AI Policy Summit is a premier international platform for policymakers, academics, industry leaders, and civil society representatives to discuss the ethical, legal, and social implications of artificial intelligence (AI).

This annual Summit provides a unique platform for policymakers, business leaders, civil society, and academia to come together, share ideas, and work collaboratively to shape the future of AI policies. The focus of the conference this year was Risk Management in AI Governance, AI and energy, AI and the economy, and sovereign/ open source initiatives.

The event was also attended by top academics from world-class universities from across the globe, including senior leaders from UNESCO, META, Microsoft, the International Telecommunication Union, the University of Oxford, Wharton School, the University of Pennsylvania Law School, and the EPFL AI Centre.

Other notable attendees include Professor Robert F. Trager, Director of the Oxford Martin AI Governance Initiative and Senior Research Fellow at the Blavatnik School of Government at the University of Oxford; Mr. Amandeep Gill, the UN Secretary-General’s Envoy on Technology; Sarah Hammer Executive Director; Adj. Professor, Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania Law School and Charlotte A. Burrows, Chair of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).

The event had attendees from 90+ countries, and thus the broad global scope of the event was crucial in ensuring that disparate viewpoints were represented in the conference which hopes to play a vital role in shaping the future of AI in Europe, and boost capacity-building and AI awareness worldwide.
